摘 要:我们所拥有的概念的语义在历史进程中不断演化和转变。当代元哲学方案"概念工程"试图将这一现象和哲学方法论勾连,主张哲学的任务是设计和修正我们的概念。随之而来的问题是:我们能否真正"掌控"概念的意义?这就是"掌控难题"。对于这个难题,有两种主要解释策略:语义外在论和语义内在论。这两种进路各有洞见与盲点。本文试图提供一个更具优势的解释策略,即语义推论主义方案,通过纳入社会实践的规范维度来确保语义的掌控。Meaning of concept is not fixed during the evolution of history. Contemporary metaphilosophical project conceptual engineering argues that it is philosophers’ duty to improve our concepts. However, the problem is that in what sense can we really be in control of meaning? According to semantic externalism, the metaphysical facts which determine semantics are too complex;therefore, either we cannot really in control of meaning but keep trying, or we can only in control of meaning by defining control by virtue of collective long-range control. According to semantic internalism, conceptual engineering doesn’t need to rely on semantic externalism. Instead, the bona fide interest of them is to change speaker meaning. Both externalism and internalism have their insights and shortcomings. This paper attempts to offer a better solution concerning in control problem based on Brandom’s semantic inferentialism, which embraces the perspective of social practice.
