新加坡文秘职业“女性化”变迁及其影响

摘　　要：文秘职业一向被视为女性职业,但在20世纪上半叶,新加坡文秘职业是男性职业。随着20世纪60、70年代新加坡经济起飞和女子教育的发展,女性大量进入文秘职业,文秘职业逐渐“女性化”,并在20世纪90年代和21世纪初成为新加坡女性第一大职业群体。随着文秘职业“女性化”,文秘职业标准随之改变,变成了“适合”女性的“细心、温柔、善解人意、美丽、能干”,文秘形象也从“花瓶”变为“白领丽人”,该职业的男女收入差距相对最低。Though always regarded as a female profession,the secretarial profession was once a male one during the first half of the 20th century in Singapore.With Singapore's economic take-off and the development of women's education in the 1960s and 1970s,a large number of women entered the secretarial profession,which gradually"feminized"and became the largest professional group of women in the 1990s and early 21st century in Singapore.With its"feminization",the secretarial profession’s standards had changed accordingly,becoming"attentive,gentle,considerate,beautiful and capable",which was suitable for women.Also the image of the secretarial profession had changed from"vase"to"white-collar beauty".The income gap between men and women in this profession was relatively the lowest.
