摘  要:《活着》(Alive)是当代华裔美国作家哈金的短篇小说代表作。通过比照研读,发现作品借鉴了“美国文学之父”华盛顿·欧文《瑞普·凡·温克尔》中的叙事技巧包括情节和人物设置、心理描写以及叙事主题;同时又挪用了中国“雨巷诗人”戴望舒诗歌《过旧居》所表达的东方情致。很大程度上,哈金作品《活着》是《瑞普·凡·温克尔》在现代中国之回响、小说版《过旧居》。借此证明,华裔英语作家采用类似的中西合璧之手法实现了小说的民族性和世界性的融合,使得华裔英语文学作品受到世界广泛欢迎。‘Alive’is a representative story by Ha Jin,a contemporary Chinese American writer.A comparative reading reveals that the story has borrowed its narrative skills,including the plot and the arrangement of characters from‘Rip Van Winkle’by Washington Irving,the Father of American Literature while,at the same time,making appropriative use of the Eastern sentiments and moods in‘Going past the old residence,’a poem by Dai Wangshu,the Rain-lane Poet of China.To a large degree,Ha Jin’s‘Alive’is a reverberation of‘Rip Van Winkle’in modern China,a fictional version of‘Going past the old residence,’evidence enough that English-language writers of Chinese heritage have made their works widely popular in the world through a combination of Eastern and Western methods that achieve an integration of the national and the international.
