摘　　要：陈训慈在二十世纪的学术研究中,十分注重继承浙东学术传统,又能够根据时代要求,及时更新浙东学术思想。他在史学研究中勾勒出“浙东史学”谱系,总结“浙东史学”精神,希望近代中国史学能够达到西方史学的研究高度。陈训慈利用担任浙江图书馆馆长之便,主动更新浙东学术的传统内涵和模式,从理论和实践上丰富图书馆学内容。他在学术为现实服务方面多加用力,积极寻求国运衰微的根源,认识到普通民众素质低下才是落后挨打的关键,从而致力于塑造新民、改造国民性进而改良社会。In the academic research of the twentieth century,Chen Xunci attached great importance to inheriting the academic tradition of East Zhejiang and updating the academic thought of Eastern Zhejiang in time according to the requirements of the times.He outlined the genealogy of"Historiography of East Zhejiang"in his historiographical research,summarized the spirit of"Historiography of East Zhejiang",and hoped that modern Chinese historiography could equal the research height of Western historiography.Chen Xunci,taking advantage of his position as the director of Zhejiang Library,actively renewed the traditional connotation and mode of Eastern Zhejiang academic development and enriched the content of Library Science in theory and practice.He made great efforts in academic service of reality,actively sought the root of the decline of national fortune,realized that the low quality of ordinary people was the reason of lagging behind and being vulnerable to attacks,and thus devoted himself to cultivating new citizens and to improving national character and social atmosphere.
