摘 要:詹姆斯·凯瑞提出“传播的仪式观”,用仪式化的隐喻建构文化层面的传播观念,为当时的传播发展提供了新的思路,在传播学史上具有开创性意义。他所提出的仪式观和传递观分别指向传播学的文化科学和效果研究两种传播学范式,我们可以借助天主教及新教教义进一步认识这两种范式。基于涂尔干、芒福德对宗教原始形态的分析,凯瑞借助“仪式”这一宗教概念抵达传播的文化路径,具体即通过仪式的核心概念——“秩序”来生成精神价值,铺设意义系统,构建现实结构。Using ritual metaphor to construct communication theory on the cultural level,James W.Carey put forward the ritual view of communication and invigorated communication studies.It was groundbreaking in the history of communication.The Ritual View of Communication and the Transportation View of Communication point to two paradigms:Cultural Science and Effect Research.We can further understand these two paradigms with the help of catholic and protestant doctrines.Based on Durkheim and Mumford’s views of original religion form,Carey used the religious concept of“ritual”to reach the Cultural Science of Communication.Specifically,spiritual value is generated,meaning system is created,and realistic structure is constructed through“order”,the core concept of ritual.This article attempts to examine Carey’s cultural view from the perspective of religion,which can unleash a kind of imagination:the encounter between the intellectual history of communication and the religious perspective.
