摘 要:粤语电影自诞生起,有关其废存问题的论争就一直伴随始终。国民政府的电影审查机构一向将粤语片视为非法电影,要求取缔。而香港电影业则积极争取粤语片的合法身份,一方面进行内部改革,一方面向南京方面发起请愿,为粤语电影辩护。粤语电影的废存问题,表面上是政府和电影制片商人之间的矛盾,实际上还是现代社会转型引发的文化震荡在电影上的表现,涉及如何处理中央与地方的关系,如何协调国语和方言的冲突,以及如何看待香港的文化生产实践等内容。Since the birth of Cantonese films,there has been a constant debate on whether they ought to be banned or preserved.The film censorship agency of the government of the Republic of China always treated Cantonese films as illegal and demanded that they be banned.The Hong Kong film industry,per contra,did actively strive for the effective legalization of Cantonese films.It implemented internal reforms,while at the same time appealing to the Nationalist government in Nanjing for the protection of Cantonese films.The issue of Cantonese films seems to have centred on a conflict between the government,film producers and businessmen,but it was also a manifestation of the cultural shock caused by the transformation of imperial China into a modern nation-state.This involved the question of how to deal with the relationship that existed between the central and local governments,how to come to terms with the conflict that opposed the national language and local dialects,and how to perceive cultural production practices in Hong Kong.
