印度英语文学史书写与国家共同体建构——以艾衍加尔《印度英语创作》为例

摘　　要：作为首部印度英语文学史,艾衍加尔的《印度英语创作》提倡英语“本土化”改造,追溯还原了印度英语写作的诞生发展轨迹,确立了印度英语文学这一独立学科,并有意识地强调印英文学的民族文化传承与“泛印度性”特征,致力于建构符合印度民族主义史学观的国家共同体想象。在印度独立初期乃至之后的过渡时期,艾衍加尔从文学史角度整合民族文化、塑造国家认同,有助于“婆罗多之地”印度成为国际国内通行的现代国家符号,对印度民族国家共同体建构起到一定积极作用。As the first book about the history of Indian English literature,Iyengar’s Indian Writing in English endeavors to localize English,traces the origin and development of Indian English writing,establishes the discipline of Indian English literature,and emphasizes consciously Indian cultural heritage and“pan-India”features of Indian English literature,in order to construct nation-state community according to Hindu nationalist historiography.From the beginning of India’s independence and even after a long period of transition,Iyengar’s use of literary history to integrate national culture and construct national identity helps to make Bharatvarsha India a modern national symbol domestically and internationally,and to play a positive role in the building of Indian national community.
