历史复杂性的呈现——读陈福民《北纬四十度》

摘　　要：陈福民先生提出的“北纬四十度”是一个融合了地理、历史与文化三重含义的复合型概念:作为地理概念,它指的是与长城几近重合的那条纬线;作为历史概念,它是《北纬四十度》一书的叙事之纬。作者在这本书里以独到的方法论呈现了“北纬四十度”的历史复杂性,同时他又将叙述历史的目标与历史复杂性的内容引向了对文化意义的“北纬四十度”的阐发,它指的是由地理纬线界分的游牧民族与定居民族在两千余年的历史时空中不断发生的民族冲突与民族融合。The“Forty Degrees North”proposed by Mr.Chen Fumin is a composite concept that combines geographic,historical and cultural meanings:as a geographical concept,it refers to the latitude line that nearly coincides with the Great Wall;as a historical concept,it is the line of the narrative of the book Forty Degrees of North.In this book,the author presents the historical complexity of“Forty Degrees North”with a unique methodology,and at the same time,he leads the objective of narrating history and the content of historical complexity to the interpretation of the cultural meaning of“Forty Degrees North”,which refers to the continuous ethnic conflict and integration between nomadic and sedentary peoples divided by geographical latitudes over a historical period of more than two thousand years.
