摘 要:随着伊丽莎白女王的逝去和都铎王朝帷幕的落下,英国戏剧也进入斯图亚特时代。此时的剧场走出了传统模式,观众的兴趣也发生改变,剧作家们已从对现实的模仿转向对自我的追问,戏剧形式从过去对历史剧的偏好转向讽刺戏剧和假面剧。《奥赛罗》是莎士比亚在斯图亚特时期创作的首部悲剧,作家从对社会问题的追踪转向对普遍人性的分析,运用新潮形式来丰富自己的创作。他总想在观众、演员和作者的三位一体中寻求某种平衡,对人物、情节和节奏等作通盘考虑,所以他笔下的人物充分展示了其心理机制由变化走向恶化的历程,显得有血有肉,而非某种类型的符号。The death of Queen Elizabeth of England and the ending of the English House of Tudor led English theatre into the Stuart era. Now, the theater had also evolved beyond the traditional mode. With the shift of the interests of the audience, playwrights accordingly made adjustment from the imitation of reality to self-questioning, and dramatic forms were switched from the preference for historical plays to satirical plays and masques. As the first of Shakespeare’s tragedy written in the Stuart period, Othello demonstrates the playwright’s shift from the tracking of social problems to the analysis of universal human nature, and his adoption of the fashionable forms to enrich his creations. He always tried to find some kind of balance in the trinity of audience, actor and playwright, and made overall consideration of characters, plot and development, so his characters have fully demonstrated the journey of their psychological mechanism from alteration to deterioration, which makes them vivid characters rather than only a certain symbol.
