文化记忆视角下民俗事象英译研究——以汉学家韩南《三遂平妖传》译本为例

摘　　要：《三遂平妖传》成书于明代,其中包含了丰富的中国传统民俗文化,其翻译往往会遇到文化信息不对等的问题。拟从文化记忆的角度研究韩南《三遂平妖传》英译本中的民俗事象翻译,基于收集语料的统计及分析,从物质民俗翻译的回忆空间再现、社会民俗翻译的文化记忆重现、精神民俗翻译的文化记忆认同三方面分析汉学家韩南翻译对中国民俗的阐释方式、文化倾向性及总体传达效果,深度挖掘汉学家译者对中国民俗记忆的认同态度及传达效度,客观考察汉学家译者在中国文化传播中做出的选择及发挥的作用。Quelling the Demons’Revolt,a novel of Ming Dynasty,contains a wealth of folk customs,the translation of which often encounters the asymmetry in cultural information.From the prospective of culture memory theory,this paper is devoted to study the translation of folk customs in Hanan’s translation Quelling the Demon’s Revol.Based on the statistics and analysis of collected corpus,this paper analyzes the interpretation,cultural orientation and overall communication effect of Chinese folk customs by Sinologist Hannan from three aspects:spatial representation of memory in material folk translation;reappearance of cultural memory in translation of social folk customs;identification of cultural memory in translation of spiritual folk customs.This paper explores the sinologists’and translators’identification attitude and transmission validity to Chinese folk customs,and objectively study the choices and roles made by Sinologist translators in the communication of Chinese culture.
