摘　　要：史念海先生于唐代历史地理研究用力甚勤,成果颇丰。他不断深入研究唐代历史地理问题,涉及唐代政治区划、自然环境、都会交通、人物分布、风俗习尚以及当时学者的有关成就等诸多方面,对唐代农业和畜牧业的关系、农牧业的发达与萧条对王朝盛衰的影响等问题,均有精深的研究和独到的见解。综观他的唐代历史地理研究,以经济地理研究的成果最为丰富,这是他始终追求治学“有用于世”的结果。他毕生坚持“有用于世”的治学理念,为中国历史地理学研究指明了正确方向。Professor Shi Nianhai had made a wealth of preeminent contributions and achieved fruitful achievements in the area of historical geography of Tang Dynasty.He probed the historical geography of Tang Dynasty continuously and deeply,involving the aspects of political division,natural environment,capital transportation,character distribution,customs and habits,the relevant achievements of scholars in Tang Dynasty.He had commanded profound knowledge and unique opinion on the relationship between agriculture and animal husbandry as well as the impact of the development and depression of agriculture and animal husbandry on the rise and fall in Tang Dynasty.Comprehensively evaluating his research on historical geography of Tang Dynasty,most of them belonged to economic geography.The academic concept which Professor Shi adhered all his life has pointed out the correct direction for the issue of Chinese historical geography.
