摘  要:本文通过揭阳市炮台镇钻孔ZK002的岩石组合特征及^(14)C、OSL测年结果,对广东潮汕平原第四纪地层进行划分。将其与广东沿海地层对比,发现潮汕平原比珠江三角洲更早接受第四纪沉积,在中更新世时先形成一套厚达几十米的沉积物。本文尝试新建一个岩石地层单位——炮台组表示该套地层,是在潮汕平原上不整合于基岩风化壳之上、平行不整合于礼乐组之下的地层,岩性为褐黄、灰黄色砾石、砾砂、含砾粗砂、中粗砂夹灰黑、褐黄色淤泥、黏土、粉砂质黏土、粉砂,顶部为花斑黏土,含腐木及植物碎片,时代为中更新世。A large number of carbonate sediments on early Carboniferous were developed in Lianzhou area of Northwest Guangdong Province,and Lianxian Formation has special significance for the carbonate Abstract:Based on rock assemblage characteristics and ^(14)C and OSL dating results of Core ZK002 at Paotai,Jieyang,in the Chaoshan Plain of the Guangdong Province,this paper classifies the Quaternary strata.Through correlation with Guangdong coastal strata,it is found that the Chaoshan Plain received sedimentation earlier than the Pearl River Delta,and had accumulated tens-of-meters-thick deposits in the Middle Pleistocene.This paper establishes a new rock stratigraphic unit—Paotai Formation—to represent this stratigraphic layer,which in definition is underlain by bedrock weathering crust unconformably and overlain by the Lile Formation disconformably.In lithology,it consists of brownish-yellow,grayish yellow gravel,gravely sand,and gravelly coarse sand,or medium-to-coarse sand interbedded with grayish-black,brownish-yellow mud,clay,silty clay,and silt,with mottled clay at the top and rotten wood and plant fragments.The age is the Middle Pleistocene.
