摘　　要：Let me,first of all,express my highest esteem for this meeting of leading intellectuals,both from China and abroad.I regard it as a privilege to contribute today to what is in fact a series of international conferences.A thorough analysis of Chinese philosopher’s contributions has been provided by eminent Chinese scholars.So,I hope that a brief look at European thinking on these issues may serve as a useful addition.
