In recent years, water-soluble ammonium polyphosphate has been widely concerned in the field of liquid fertilizer and promoted and used in developed countries. The chelation of Ca^(2+)/Mg^(2+)/Zn^(2+)in ammonium polyphosphate solution was investigated by dynamic method at temperature ranging from 278.15 to 323.15 K and at pH value ranging from 5.5 to 8.0. The results showed that the chelating amount of the same mass percent of ammonium polyphosphates to metal ions would change with the change of the concentration of Ca^(2+), Mg^(2+)and Zn^(2+)in the solution. The chelating amount of ammonium polyphosphate decreased with the increase of temperature and gradually increased with the increase of pH value. The chelating amount gradually increased with the increase of degree of polymerization. The ammonium polyphosphate before and after the reaction were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis(XRD)、Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) and scanning electron microscope(SEM-EDS).
