摘　　要：束定芳教授长期从事外语教育教学研究,致力于扎根基础外语教学实践,构建中国特色外语教学理论。他的理论主张建立在调查研究和实验基础之上,借鉴与融合并论、理论与实践结合、继承与创新兼容,为我国外语教育、教学研究做出了突出贡献。本文概观束定芳教授外语教学实践探索与理论创新,以飨读者。Professor Shu Dingfang has devoted himself to rooting in basic foreign language education practice and theorizing foreign language teaching with Chinese characteristics in the past years of his professional endeavours. His theoretical position, which is well grounded on investigations and experiments, is accommodated in the coupling of in-taking and integration, theory and practice, and inheriting and innovation, and thus he has made outstanding accomplishments for foreign language education, teaching and research in China. This article offers a sketch of Professor Shu Dingfang’s exploration in foreign language teaching practice and his theoretical innovation so as to satisfy the desire of the readers.
