Due to the change and evolution of honorific terms, the honorific meaning of“Jun,Qing”has weakened in this kind of use.During the Wei,Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties,“Qing”became a general name of closeness, which was mainly used to address people of lower status,as well as for those who were familiar and close peers.Afterwards,it was mainly used as the name the monarch uses to call his minister. The honorific meaning of“Ju”gradually weakened and became a general honorific title for the interlocutors, but since then it was still mainly used as honorific title between interlocutors who are not monarch and minister. After entering the Republic period,“Jun”got a new usage of calling juniors or students by elders or predecessors.Derived from the word“elder brother”,“shi xiong”was first used to honorific the same generation of family friends, and then often used in calling the lower generation of his friends. In the republic period, the later usage was more common.
