摘　　要：关于徐志摩和胡适何时开始相识、交往,学界诸贤未做专门论证。偶有文章或著作提及,且多出于猜测,文献不足征。通过全面梳理二人的相关经历,尤其是在厘清徐志摩上沪江大学与北洋大学预科、入读北大法科,以及赴美英留学与归国初行迹的基础上,考定林长民致徐志摩短信的作年,参透其中的关节,深入解读徐志摩致傅来义的信,查实胡适博士论文英文版的出版情况,及胡适1922年12月间的身体状况,把握主要时间节点,形成一个完整的证据链,考订出徐志摩与胡适初次相识交往的时间,也对这一阶段所涉及的相关人物与事件,做系统查考。No special arguments have been made about when Xu Zhimo and Hu Shi began to know each other and communicate.Although occasionally mentioned in some articles and works,most of the records are out of speculation and not convincing enough to be quoted.A complete evidence chain which can prove the time when Xu Zhimo and Hu Shi first met has been formed,and relevant figures and events are also systematically reviewed by tracing back Xu Zhimo’s learning experience at Hujiang University,Preparatory Dept.of Beiyang University and Law Dept.of Peking University,his overseas study in Britain and America as well as the period of his return to China,investigating in which year Li Changmin wrote the short letter to Xu,interpreting the letter Xu wrote to Fu Laiyi,and further understanding the publication of Doctor Hu Shi’s thesis of English version and his health condition in Dec.1922.
