摘 要:《文心雕龙》中的“文”“质”话语数量可观,既有单独和对举运用,也有“文质”“质文”的连文运用;有些属于传统意义上的“社会用法”,有些则属于“文学用法”,后者是“文”“质”话语被刘勰大规模运用到文学理论与批评中的结果,其本身也因而成为此后中国文论的经典范畴。《时序》篇的理论主题是“时代与文学”,其论证链中的两个关键词分别是“质文”与“崇替”,其中“崇替”明显是指“文学之崇替”,而“质文”并非指大多数译注者所主张的“文学之质文”,而是指“时代之质文”,属于“社会用法”。《时序》篇的主题实际上是“时代之质文与文学之崇替”的因果关系,其具体观点是中国古典文论的重要发展与构成。“Wen”and“Zhi”and its linking form“Wenzhi”and“Zhiwen”are frequently used in The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons,including traditional“social usage”,and Liu Xie is also the first one who large-scale applied them to the field of literary criticism and literary theory,established the“literary usage”of“Wen”and“Zhi”discourse and made it the classic category of Chinese ancient literary theory.The theoretical theme of the chapter Times is“times and literature”,and the two keywords in the argument chain are“Zhiwen”and“Chongti”,among which“Chongti”obviously refers to“Chongti of literature”,but“Zhiwen”does not refer to the“Zhiwen of literary”advocated by most translators,instead of referring to“Zhiwen of times”.Therefore,the theme of the chapter Times is actually the relation between“Zhiwen of times and Chongti of literature”,and forms an important component of the spirit of Chinese classical literary theory.
