Personal resources,family factors,and remarriage:an analysis based on CFPS2010 data

摘　　要：Based on China Family Panel Studies (CFPS2010) data, this paper adopts the method ofevent history analysis to explore the cultural logic and impact factors behind remarriagein China. The results show that an individual’s remarriage is influenced by personalresources and family factors. Family size, social network of relatives, and whetherone belongs to an expanded family affect the individual’s remarriage. Except foreducation, an individual’s resources generally have a positive effect on remarriage.However, due to differences between urban and rural areas and the differentfunctions of family roles, the impact of the above factors on remarriage also differsin terms of gender and the urban-rural division.
