Metabolic memory is the key bottleneck in the prevention and treatment of diabetic macrovascular diseases, which makes it difficult to reduce the mortality and disability rate of macrovascular diseases by means of the current clinical guidance programs of western medicine. We recognize metabolic memory from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM):metabolic memory is a long-term process of the erosion of pathogenic factor and the exhaustion of healthy qi;spleen deficiency and vital qi damage are the foundation;evil qi erosion and vital qi exhaustion are the core;and the circulation of evil qi erosion and vital qi exhaustion is promoted, and solving either side alone cannot break the interaction.Starting from TCM theories, this paper analyzed the occurrence, development and damage of metabolic memory in diabetes mellitus, hoping to provide intervention ideas for clinical inhibition of metabolic memory and prevention of the process of macrovascular injury.
