摘　　要：双关手法是英美文学中较为常用的一种修辞手法,该修辞手法的运用既能够以一种更加有趣的方式表达出作者的意思,还能够让读者透过表面现象分析其本质,进而产生深层次的思考,可以在很大程度上调动读者的阅读兴趣。文章简略介绍了双关手法的修辞效果,从语音双关和语义双关两方面着手,阐述了双关手法的表现形式,并对欧·亨利短篇小说《爱的奉献》中双关手法的运用进行了分析,旨在为相关研究提供参考。Pun is a rhetoric technique comparatively commonly used in British and American literature.The use of it can not only express the author’s meaning in a more interesting way,but also enable readers to analyze its essence through surface phenomena,and then produce deep thinking,which can greatly mobilize readers’ interest in reading. This paper briefly introduces the rhetorical effect of puns,expounds the manifestation of puns from two aspects of phonetic puns and semantic puns,and analyzes the application of puns in O·Henry’s short story A Service of Love,aiming to provide reference for relevant research.
