摘　　要：七星墩遗址位于湖南省华容县东山镇东旭村,北依长江,南滨洞庭,坐落在桃花山谷地,大荆湖西南隅(图一)。该遗址发现于1978年,2011年公布为省级重点文物保护单位,同年岳阳市文物考古研究所对其进行了试掘[1]。2018年该遗址被纳入“考古中国·长江中游文明进程”课题研究,至2020年,湖南省文物考古研究所等对其连续开展了三个年度的考古工作。Excavations of the outer city wall and adjacent deposits inside the city at the Qixingdun site conducted by the Hunan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology from 2019-2020 yielded relatively abundant Qujialing and Shijiahe culture remains, as well as remains dating from the Song and Yuan through Ming and Qing periods. Uncovered archaeological features include a city wall, ponds, kilns, houses,urn burials, midden pits, midden ditches and post holes, along with a number of artifacts made of pottery, stone,wood, and lacquered wood. Excavations suggest that the Qixingdun site was first built during the Qujialing culture period and fl ourished during the Shijiahe culture period. The layout, comprised of a quadrilateral inner enclosure inside a round outer enclosure, is the fi rst found in the middle Yangtze River, and thus, an important case for the study of the region’s civilizational trajectory.
