摘　　要：美国来华游历者对当代中国社会的纪实书写是近些年备受瞩目的现象。彼得·海斯勒与迈克尔·麦尔是国内外较受关注的两位美国来华游历作家。两位作家以对文化多样性包容的态度切身体会了中国的历史和文化,并在实地考察过程中表现出对中国文化的崇敬和仰慕之情。在此过程中,他们也带入自己的理性思考,并由此反观自己的文化。通过考察两位作家的作品可以发现,来华的经历有助于两位作家超越二元对立的思想,站在更能理解中国文化的角度思考问题。The documentary writing of contemporary Chinese society by American travelers to China has attracted much attention in recent years.Peter Hessler and Micheal Meyer are two of the most popular American travel writers in both domestic and international newspapers and magazines.With an attitude of cultural inclusion,the two writers have personally experienced Chinese history and culture,for which they have shown their great reverence and admiration during the field trip.In the process,they have also brought in their rational thinking to reflect upon their own culture.By studying the works of the two writers,we find that their experience in China helps them surpass binarism and think from the perspective of better understanding Chinese culture.
