摘  要:院校研究是高等院校对本校实际问题的咨询性研究。从20世纪中叶开始,院校研究首先在美国体制化,成为高校的一种治理要素和专门职业,随后传播到其他很多国家,如今已成为一个世界性现象。中国的院校研究在21世纪初起步,目前仍处于初级阶段,主要瓶颈是高校对它的有效需求不足。中国院校研究的未来发展,取决于高等教育管理体制改革的深化与院校研究者自身的专业发展。Institutional research is a kind of consultative research of colleges and universities on the actual problems of their own schools.From 1950 s,institutional research was first institutionalized in the United States as an element of governance and a specialized profession in colleges and universities,then spread to other countries,and now has become a worldwide phenomenon.The institutional research in China started at the beginning of this century and is still at its infancy,and the main bottleneck at present is the lack of effective demand for it in universities.The future development of Chinese institutional research depends on the deepening of the reform of the higher education management system and the professional development of institutional researchers themselves.
