摘　　要：College students have to spend much time on English reading from the very beginning of their freshman year.But most of the time,they just repeat what they did in high schools,read the passages in coursebooks,and remember the words and expressions in the texts.That is not enough for college English study.They need some advice.The teachers must help the students expand their vocabularies quickly and build up some good habits during the freshman year.They should know their students well and provide appropriate reading materials for them.Since most students can easily get access to the Internet nowadays,the teachers also have to prepare some necessary directions to the use of the Internet.
