大学图书馆价值再探讨——由《图书馆价值》报告引发的思考

摘　　要：1997—2017年,美国大学与研究图书馆协会连续11年发布了《图书馆价值》报告。这一系列报告具有目标明确,内容稳定;方法多样,过程严谨;可操作性强,动态更新等特点。其在“促进学生成功”“支持教学与科研”“提升机构声誉”“达成理想化的合作”四大战略有独特的方法与要点;存在传统与常新的矛盾、理论与实践的矛盾等不足。未来,图书馆价值的评价,应该在内容上更加重视服务成效,在方法上更多重视图书馆的无形效益,并且更多考核图书馆在创新能力、高等教育发展、社会经济等方面的影响,通过对各种评价方法和手段的集成,构建图书馆全方位价值评价体系,多角度、全方位向公众证明图书馆的全面价值。A series of reports on library value has been issued by Association of College & Research Libraries(ACRL) from 1997 to 2007.These reports are characterized by clear goals, stable content, various methods, rigorous process, easy to operate and dynamic update. There exist the contradictions between tradition and innovation, theory and practice in the unique methods and points of the four strategies: library’s contributing to student success, supporting faculty research & teaching, raising institutional visibility and achieving ideal cooperation. In the future,the assessment of the library value should be focused on the service results and invisible beneft. The library’s contribution to innovation ability,development of higher education, and social economy should be evaluated and attached more importance. A comprehensive assessment system should be established by various methods and approaches to prove the value of libraries to the public.
