情报英文译名的演变与规范刍议

摘　　要：情报一词的英文翻译作为图书馆学与情报学的一个重要问题,学界尚未达成共识。本文梳理了现有的代表性译法,如典型的将其译为information或者intelligence,分析了这两种常见译名与中文情报一词在语义方面的差异以及学界的不同观点。借鉴“中华思想文化术语传播工程”的做法,本文建议在翻译情报一词时,将广义的情报译为information,狭义的情报译为intelligence;而当信息、情报、智能等在一处文字中同时出现时则采用音译词“Qingbao”,以避免在一句话中一词多义的问题,并通过举例的方式阐释了当其与信息、智能等术语共现时该译法的可行性与合理性。There is yet to be a consensus on the English translation of the word“intelligence”in academic circles,despite its importance in library science and information science.This study examines the existing translation of information or in‐telligence,analyzes the semantic differences between these two common translations and the Chinese word qingbao,ad‐dresses the different viewpoints of the academic circle,and discusses the recognition of the new word“infotelligence”coined by academic circles at home and abroad.Referring to the practice of“Chinese ideological and cultural terminology communication project,”the study suggests that transliteration can be used in the translation of“情报”into“Qingbao”and illustrates the feasibility and rationality of the translation when combined with terms such as information and intelligence.
