摘　　要：在我还是外科住院医师的时候,林顿、布莱克莫尔、德巴基等人对临床上各种血管手术的报道对我产生了很大的影响。随后我决定找一些有腹水的狗,以便于我同时研究狗和肝硬化患者的腹水。匹兹堡市圣弗朗西斯医院的玛丽·阿黛尔护士长,是个非常友善的人,一次就买了3只狗,并将它们伺养在病理学实验室大楼的屋顶上。单纯地通过胸腔下静脉缩窄术所获得的犬腹水中蛋白质含量远高于肝硬化患者。腹水形成后6个月,将腹直肌一端切断,进行腹膜转位,这样腹水便可以流经肌纤维。我在匹兹堡大学外科住院医师科研大会上发表这篇论文时,第一次见到了匹兹堡大学外科研究实验室的负责人伯纳德·费舍尔医生。当我在1955年完成了圣弗朗西斯医院的住院医师实习时,他邀请我加入他的团队。During my surgical residency era,Iwas highly influenced by reports on various clinical vascular surgeries by Linton,Blakemore,DeBakey and othersIdecided to obtain a few ascitic dogs,so thatI could study both dogs and cimhotic patients ascitic fluid Sister Mary Adele,Associate Administrator of the St.Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh,was very kind and bought 3 dogsat a time,pemitting them to be housed on the roof top of the pathology laboratory building Protein contents in the dogs ascites were obtained by simple constriction of the thoracic inferior vend cave and were much higher than that of cir rhotic patients.
