摘　　要：The thesis bases on James Joyce’s short story collection the Dubliners as the main text,supplemented by other works,and from a poetic perspective,focuses on the relationship between Joyce’s exile life and his nostalgia.Nostalgia is widespread,but its mental activity is not simple.Joyce wanders overseas,but his nostalgia is not directly expressed,and even shows his disgust with Ireland.The poetic interpretation of this contradictory phenomenon can help us understand Joyce’s personal ideas,literary thoughts,and feelings of home and country.And then,it may help us understand why exiled writers often have complex and contradictory feelings about their homeland.
