摘　　要：本文在译介喜龙仁《艺术评论家苏东坡》一文基础上,全面阐述了其对苏轼绘画理论乃至宋画的认识与理解,进而追踪探源,剖析喜龙仁此文的写作缘由、目的及对后学研究苏轼绘画创作的启示。而将此文与滕固德文版《艺术评论家苏东坡》一文比较,可进一步彰显喜龙仁在西方汉学界苏轼绘画理论研究领域的开创之功。Based on the translation of Osvald Sirén’s“Su Tung-p’o as an Art Critic,”this paper expounds in detail Sirén’s knowledge and understanding of the theory related to Su Shi’s paintings and even Song paintings.It also traces the sources used,analyzes the reasons and purposes of Osvald Sirén’s study,and explains its inspiration for the study of Su Shi’s paintings by later scholars.A comparison of Sirén’s text with the Teng Gu’s German version of“The Art Critic”further demonstrates Sirén’s pioneering work in Western sinology in the field of theoretical studies of Su Shi’s paintings.
