Objective To report the candidates of the bone conduction hearing devices(BCHD) uptake rate, satisfactions and the reasons for their rejection. Methods A study with retrospective and prospective data collection was performed. The consecutive new patients referred to the BCHD counsel center in a tertiary health care center of China between May 2015 and December 2020 was collated. Results 162 new patients were counseling BCHD. There were 61.73%(100/162)male and 38.27%(62/162) female patients. Congenital ear atresia(62.96%, 102/162, including bilateral ear atresia 56/162,34.57%) was the most common reason for consultation, followed by SSD(30.25%, 49/162). The total intervention rate in the study population was 45.06%(73/162). Among them, 51(51/162, 31.48%) patients chose BCHD. The highest rate of the intervention with BCHD was found in patients with bilateral ear atresia(87.5%, 49/56). The main reason for refusal was patients or the parents of child that believed they could hear and speak. Conclusion Patients with bilateral ear atresia were the most likely candidates to accepting BCHD. The commonest reason for refusing BCHD was their hearing condition had no obvious effect on listening, speaking, and daily life.
