摘　　要：如何研究中国边疆是令人着迷的问题。历史学虽在边疆研究中占据重要地位,但是中国边疆的复杂性决定了任何单一的学科都不足以对其进行有效的研究。回顾社会学传入中国后的边疆研究历程,可知社会学致力于从边疆的田野中探索边疆社会的秩序与变迁,寻找边疆内在的方向感,生产关于中国边疆的知识,从而解决时代焦虑和国家的困惑。构建中国边疆学自主知识体系不仅需要立足边疆的实际,解决边疆问题;更需要立足于国家安定统一的视角,构建中国自己的边疆理论。社会学通过对边疆的田野研究,挖掘中国边疆的本土经验,使得中国边疆学知识体系保持理论自主性的警觉,这是社会学研究中国边疆的使命所在,也是构建中国边疆学自主知识体系的必经之路。It is fascinating to study Chinese frontiers.History plays an important role in Chinese frontier studies,but the complexity of frontiers in China determines that any single discipline is not sufficient for effective research.In retrospect of the process of frontier studies after sociology was introduced into China,it can be seen that sociological research in frontiers is dedicated to exploring orders and changes of the frontier society from the field of frontiers,searching for the internal sense of direction of frontiers,and producing knowledge about China's frontiers with the purpose to relieve the anxiety of the times and the confusion of the country.Constructing an independent knowledge system of Chinese frontier studies does not only need to solve frontier problems in reality,but also needs to build China's frontier theory based on national stability and unity.Sociology distills the local experience of Chinese frontiers through field research on frontiers,so that the knowledge system of frontier studies in China maintains the vigilance of its autonomy.It is the mission of sociology to study Chinese frontiers,and it is also the only way to construct an independent knowledge system of Chinese frontier studies.
