摘 要:对具有基座设计结构的大芯径铒镱共掺光纤在1535nm纤芯吸收的准确测试,一直是业界关注的重点及难点。本文介绍了一种有效测试及表征该类型光纤纤芯吸收的方法,即利用两种参考光纤分别与测试光纤进行熔接,采用常规截断法,分别对纤芯直径相同,但结构中含有基座设计和不含基座设计的铒镱共掺光纤(25/300)进行纤芯吸收测试。经试验研究表明,采用与测试光纤具有相同NA和相同纤芯尺寸的无源光纤作为参考光纤时,输出端功率呈现稳定变化趋势,不含基座设计的铒镱共掺光纤的纤芯吸收测试值与设计值基本相符,达到85.0 d B/m左右,含基座设计的铒镱共掺光纤测试值偏小,但经推算后,设计值与理论值能够高度相符。事实证明,凡是具有基座设计结构的铒镱共掺光纤在经过测试后,需要进行合理推算得到设计值,进而为铒镱共掺光纤激光器的搭建提供依据。Accurate measurement of core absorption at 1535 nm for large core diameter erbium-ytterbium co-doped fiber with pedestal design structure has always been the focus and difficulty of the industry.This paper introduces an effective method to test and characterize the core absorption of this type of fiber,that is,two reference fibers are fused with the test fiber respectively,and the conventional truncation method is used to test the core absorption of erbium-ytterbium co-doped fiber(25/300)with the same core diameter but with and without pedestal structure.The experimental research shows that when the passive fiber with the same NA and core size as the test fiber is used as the reference fiber,the output power shows a stable change trend.The core absorption test value of the erbium-ytterbium co-doped fiber without pedestal design is basically consistent with the design value,reaching about 85.0 d B/m.The test value of the erbium-ytterbium co-doped fiber with pedestal design is small,but after calculation,the design value can be highly consistent with the theoretical value.It has been proved that the design value of erbium-ytterbium codoped fiber with pedestal design structure needs to be calculated reasonably after testing,so as to provide a basis for the construction of erbiumytterbium co-doped fiber laser.
