摘　　要：蔡熙教授的新著《狄更斯城市小说的现代性研究》在大量文本分析的基础上详细考察了狄更斯城市小说的现代性元素,对狄更斯创造的“文学伦敦”这一现代性的文学空间进行了全面且颇具深度的探讨,清晰地勾勒出由伦敦街道—闲逛—视觉—听觉—都市空间—现代性构成的六位一体的文学版图;对小说中的空间叙事、视觉叙事、声音叙事等现代叙事形式进行了充分的挖掘,在对小说现代形式和叙事风格的分析中,更加凸显狄更斯作品的现代性体验和个性化表达;同时,该著还饱含着对现代文明的回顾与思考,对狄更斯城市小说中蕴含的现代性都市经验的揭示,对指导和启迪我们当前城市文学和都市文化的发展也有着重要的价值意义。A Study of Modernity of Dickens’Urban Novel,a newly published academic work by Professor Cai Xi,examines the modern elements of Dickens’urban novels in detail on the basis of a large number of textual analysis,and carries out a deep probing of the modern literature of Literary London created by Dickens,and outlines the six-in-one literary map composed of London streets,wandering,sight,hearing,urban space,modernity;spatial narrative,visual narrative and sound narrative in novels.In the analysis of the modern form and narrative style of the novel,the modern experience and personalized expression of Dickens’works have been fully excavated.At the same time,this book is also full of review and reflection on modern civilization.The revelation of the modern urban experience contained in Dickens’urban novels is also of great value in guiding and inspiring the development of our current urban literature and urban culture.
