从蔡鸣喈之死看五四时期职业女性的困境

摘　　要：五四运动的一个客观效果是让妇女解放运动在思想和行动层面向前迈进了一大步。部分女子接受五四思想和精神的洗礼,勇敢挣脱家庭与社会的囚笼,开始与时代同呼吸共命运,成为妇女解放的先驱或革命者。不过,社会观念层面的变化并不会一蹴而就,在新旧交替、杂糅共处的时代,女子一旦踏入社会就要抛头露面,难免会面临旧礼教的指点。有些女子虽然走了出去,但在思想认识上并没有摆脱旧女性的标签,由此导致一种难言的生存境况。五四时期的职业女性蔡鸣喈,在受到关乎男女关系的道德指责时选择自杀,以死抗争流言蜚语加在职业女性身上的道德枷锁,这反映出那些走了出去、实现精神自立的时代新女性的艰辛与伟大。One of the objective effects of the May 4th movement is the women's liberation movement in thought and action.Some women are deeply influenced by the Movement and bravely break away from the cage of the tradition to join the women's liberation.However,the change of social customs is not with the pace of women's liberation.In an era of coexistence of the old times and the new times,once women enter the society and appear in public,they will face the challenges from the old ethics.Some new women still have old thoughts.They have to struggle for survive in such a condition.CAI Mingjie is such a woman.She commits suicide to resist the moral slander from others.This incident also reflects the hardships and greatness of new women who not only get rid of the chains but also realized the spiritual independence.
