Artificial intelligence technology has been rapidly expanding with increasing relevance in anesthesia. The body evidence to support the use of artificial intelligence in clinical anesthesia, including pediatric anesthesia,is growing.Preoperatively, artificial intelligence was capable of predicting the risk of serious adverse outcomes including mortality and airway-related events, assisting airway diagnosis/assessment,and improving perioperative transfusion prediction.Intraoperatively, artificial intelligence played an attractive role in facilitating ultrasound-based procedures, pediatric airway management and monitoring, and accurate automatic closed-loop anesthesia.Postoperatively, artificial intelligence helped identify the life-threatening respiratory modes of this vulnerable population. This article introduced the artificial intelligence models utilized in medicine and reviewed the state of the art artificial intelligence applications in pediatric anesthesia throughout each phase of perioperative care.Future artificial intelligence algorithms integrated in every aspect of pediatric anesthesia can supplement anesthesiologists medical decision-making in perioperative management with improved outcome prediction and overcome unique perioperative risk in pediatric anesthesia.
