天文学、镜子与钟表:《理查二世》中的科学技术与国王的身体政治

摘　　要：莎士比亚的历史剧《理查二世》讨论了国王身体的神性与人性。本文拟借助康托洛维茨的国王的两个身体(政治之体与自然之体)概念,结合同时代科学技术的发展状况,由科技角度切入,探讨理查二世的身体政治。显然,理查二世清晰表现出国王二体理论——与其他人共同具备的凡人之体以及超越其人类极限与其他君王和上帝相同的象征之体,他经历了国王的政治之体与自然之体的分离过程。剧中的天文学及相关的地球仪知识,以及镜子、钟表等科技物品对塑造、巩固乃至解构、重构其国王身体与身份起着至关重要的作用。Shakespeare’ s history play Richard Ⅱ deals with the controversy between the mortal aspects of the King.According to Kantorowicz’ s point of view,the King has two bodies:a Body Natural and a Body Politic.This paper aims to analyze the King’ s body politics from the perspective of contemporary development of new science and technology.Obviously,King Richard Ⅱ articulates the theory of the king’s two bodies—the mortal body he shares with other humans,and the symbolic body that transcends his human limitations and allies him with other kings and with God.He experiences the divorce between his body politic and the body natural.The knowledge of astronomy and instruments such as globe,glass and clock,plays a significant role in shaping,deconstructing and reconstructing the King’ s body and identity.
