Objective:To investigate the impact of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection on female ovarian reserve, ovarian response, and male semen parameters. Methods:This retrospective study analyzed data of patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology(ART)between May 2020 and February 2021 in Reproductive Medicine Center,Tongji Hospital,Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Science and Technology.According to whether SARS-CoV-2 antibodies test positive within one week before oocyte retrieval, patients were divided into the case group(SARS-CoV-2 antibodies positive)and the control group(SARS-CoV-2 antibodies negative). For females, propensity score matching was performed to balance the characteristics between the groups, and then anti-Müllerian hormone(AMH),follicle stimulation hormone(FSH),antral follicle counting(AFC),gonadotropin dosage, gonadotropin duration, and numbers of large follicles were compared between the groups after matching. For males,a single-arm study was performed to analyze semen parameters, including semen volume, total vitality, progressive motility, semen concentration, the total number of semen, and normal sperm morphology rate, before and after infection. Results:A total of 120 patients were tested as positive for SARS-CoV-2 with 50 males and 70 females. For females, there were 260 patients in the control group and 65 patients in the case group after matching. The ovarian reserve(AMH,FSH,AFC)and ovarian response(gonadotropin dosage, gonadotropin duration, and the number of large follicles)were similar between the groups(P>0.05).For males,26 patients had experienced semen analyses before and after infection. There was a slight decrease in normal form rate(P=0.001),while no significant differences were observed in terms of other semen parameters(P>0.05).Conclusion:SARS-CoV-2 infection has no significant effect on female ovarian reserve and ovarian response.Although the normal form rate is reduced after infection,it is still within the normal range, and the infection shows no
