Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is a chronic multi-organ autoimmune disorder, with predominant female patients of child-bearing age. The typified immune disorders in SLE may pose a threat to both mother and the fetus, and thus pregnant SLE patients are associated with higher risks than healthy pregnant females. The key to ensuring a safe pregnancy is the delicate modification of maternal immune system, which protects semi-allogenic fetus from immune attacks from mother. Regulatory B cells(Bregs)play a critical role in pregnancy and several autoimmune diseases including SLE. Bregs are engaged in negative modulation of immunity via the secretion of various cytokines and the interaction with other immune cells, having an indispensable influence on pregnancy outcomes and the development of SLE. In this paper,we aim to summarize the research progress of Bregs in pregnancy complicated with SLE.
