高校校训的优秀传统文化意蕴及其时代价值——以南京农业大学为例

摘　　要：校训是一所学校办学理念、办学特色和价值追求的集中体现。南京农业大学校训“诚朴勤仁”由原国立南京大学校训“诚朴雄伟”和原金陵大学校训“诚真勤仁”融合而成,其内涵在120年办学实践中不断丰富和发展,成为南京农业大学最根本的文化基因。文章从中国古代典籍入手,深入挖掘校训“诚朴勤仁”的优秀传统文化意蕴。立足于世界百年未有之大变局和中华民族伟大复兴的时代背景,紧扣“世界眼光、中国情怀和南农品质”这一新的办学理念,把校训的优秀传统文化基因和新时代精神有机结合,不断丰富和拓展“诚朴勤仁”的时代内涵;切实发挥校训精神在卓越农业人才培养和农业特色世界一流大学建设中的价值引领和精神激励作用,以实现立德树人的教育使命。The motto is the embodiment of operating ideas,characteristics and value pursuits of a university.The motto of Nanjing Agricultural University(NAU),“Integrity,Simplicity,Diligence and Benevolence(ISDB)”,is derived from the motto of the former National Central University,“Sincerity,Simplicity,Aspiration and Greatness”,and the former University of Nanking’s“Honesty,Truth,Diligence and Kindness”.Its connotations have continuously been enriched and developed over the past 120 years which became the cultural gene of NAU.This study probed into the connotation and implications of traditional culture as contained in ISDB through the scrutiny of ancient Chinese classics and bibliographies.To continuously enrich and expand the contemporary connotations of ISDB,this study combined the traditional cultural genes of ISDB with the spirit of the new era based on the world’s changes unseen in the past century and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,as well as the new educational philosophy of NAU:“World Vision,Chinese Feelings and NAU Quality”.Researchers hoped to carry forward the spirit of ISDB to establish values and motivate spirits in talent cultivation in its Herculean efforts at transforming NAU into one of the best agricultural universities in the world,and thus fulfill the mission of fostering virtue through education.
