[Purpose/significance]As the two basic data of scientific metrological indicators, publications and citations have been playing an important role in scientific research.Compared with traditional journal papers, exploring the rhythm of researchers’academic career based on conference papers can measure and evaluate researchers more comprehensively and provide reference for the innovation of talent evaluation indicators.[Method/process]This study uses empirical analysis, through the quantitative study of the age, academic productivity and influence of the authors of ASIS&T conference papers,to explore and summarize the research rhythm of scholars in different stages of academic career distinguished by conference activity.[Result/conclusion]It is found that the active participation of young scholars in the writing of conference papers helps to maintain stable academic productivity;scholars with a certain accumulation can help to expand the influence of their achievements by participating in academic conferences. In addition, active participants are more likely to produce high-impact results and maintain stable academic influence in their old age.
