摘　　要：Since the Wei,Jin,Northern and Southern Dynasties(220-589),the purpose of the construction of the garden had gradually transformed from the land of crops production to the site of aestheti c pleasure.The painting theory and practice based on nature have had an important influence on garden bui lding activities.The article analyses their relationship in four aspects:the artistic design of nature themed spa ce,the application of plants in composing landscape,the symbiosis of the Shan and the Shui,and the intera ction between mountains and rivers in the overall space.
