Polymyositis(PM) and dermatomyositis(DM) are autoimmune diseases. Cardiac involvement has become the leading cause of death in patients with PM/DM. The onset of cardiac involvement is usually hidden. Early diagnosis is helpful to start effective treatment and improve prognosis. At present, the application value of conventional imaging for subclinical cardiac involvement is limited, and functional imaging has potential value. Multimodal functional imaging plays an important role in the early diagnosis and efficacy evaluation of cardiac involvement in PM/DM. This article reviews the application and research progress of multimodal imaging in the early diagnosis and quantitative assessment of cardiac damage in patients with PM/DM.
