英汉纵向空间维度介词的意象图式和隐喻拓展——以空间介词“上”“下”“up”和“down”为例

摘　　要：文章旨在探讨汉语中的方位介词“上”和“下”以及英语中的方位介词“up”和“down”在“数量”“等级”“时间”以及“状态”范畴的隐喻图示,并提出“上”和“下”与“up”和“down”在“数量”“等级”以及“状态”的隐喻意义基本一致,然而,英文“up”和“down”在“时间”范畴的隐喻意义与汉语不完全一致。The present research is intended to discuss the metaphorical mappings of"shang","xia","up"and"down"onto the domains of"quantity","social hierarchy","time"and"state".This paper finds that there exist close parallels between the metaphorical extensions of"shang"/"xia"with"up"/"down"onto that of their target domains of"quantity","social hierarchy"and"state".However,some mismatches exist between certain specific metaphorical extensions of"shang"/"xia"with"up"/"down"onto that of their target domains of"time".
