摘 要:以姓氏区别婚姻是世界各民族中普遍存在的姻亲关系缔结制度,是人类社会所共有的家庭与血缘宗族认同形式。由于书写者语言不通的局限,很多汉文典籍将一些少数民族表述为“有族无姓”或“有名无姓”的文化群体,这是一种认识谬误。从苗族的姓氏及其在苗语古经辞的使用中,我们看到,苗族的姓氏在苗语三大方言中始终保持着“同姓不婚”的历史传统,“汉姓相同苗姓不同的家族之间可以通婚,汉姓不同而苗姓相同的家族之间则禁止通婚”,这一文化现象从苗族古经辞中苗姓称谓词的译释里可得到有力说明。The cultural tradition of distinguishing marriage by family name is a common system of es⁃tablishing marriage relationship among all ethnic groups in the world,and it is a common form of family and consanguinity clan identification in human society.Due to the limitation of language use of writ⁃ers,many Chinese classics describe many ethnic minorities as“ethnic groups without surnames”or“a name without surnames”,which is a misunderstanding of cognition.It can be seen from the context of the Miao surnames and their use in the ancient scriptures of Miao language that the Miao surnames have always maintained the historical traditional of“having the same surname but not getting married”in the three dialects of Miao language,“marriage can be allowed between families with the same Han surname and different Miao surname,while it is forbidden between families with different Han sur⁃name and the same Miao surname”,this cultural phenomenon can be effectively explained from the translation and interpretation of Miao surname appellation words in the ancient scriptures of Miao na⁃tionality.
