摘　　要：1977年,施拉姆受邀前往香港中文大学创立传播研究硕士班,开启香港传播研究,相关学术范式由此随改革开放传入大陆。通过对亲历者的口述史访谈,以及对《亚洲传播季报》、余也鲁回忆录、施拉姆在港研究等史料的发掘,论文以知识社会史视角探查香港地区传播研究的起源、范式与方法。通过追踪关联北美传播学与香港地区传播学的关键人物、机构和事件,发现在东西方冷战、香港地区本土发展诉求等多重因素影响下,香港地区传播研究既承袭了美式发展主义,也相对独立地探索了第三世界国家现代化的可能路径。2022年是施拉姆访问中国大陆40周年,在此历史节点追溯香港地区传播研究的知识型和实践范式的源头,有助于更新传播学进入中国的知识社会史视野,重新锚定20世纪港台学术在东亚地区社会科学发展史中的谱系位置,填补“传播学在中国”缺失的一环。In 1977, Wilbur Schramm w as invited by the Chinese University of Hong Kong to help start communication research in Hong Kong. Relevant paradigms w ere then introduced to the mainland after1982. This paper interview s scholars w ho have experienced the rise of communication studies in Hong Kong. It also retrieves historical materials such as The Asian Messenger,Memoir of Timothy Yu,and Schramm’s studies in Hong Kong. From the perspective of the social history of know ledge,this paper examines the key figures,institutions,and events of communication research in the United States and Hong Kong. It found that communication studies in Hong Kong inherited American-style empirical communication studies. On the other hand, the scholars also explored independent paths of modernization. All these happened in the background of the Cold War and the economic prosperity of Hong Kong. 2022 is the 40th anniversary of Schramm ’s visit to the mainland. It’s meaningful to trace the academic and practical paradigm of Hong Kong ’s communication research at this time. It w ill update the historical perception of communication studies in Greater China. It w ill also re-examine the circulation of Western communication scholarship in Greater China and fill in the missing link in“Communication Research in China”.
