Metabolic diseases are diseases characterized by abnormal metabolism of nutrients such as carbohydrates, lipids and proteins caused by obesity, immune abnormalities, heredity and other factors. They belong to one of the major public health problems. The pathogenesis of metabolic diseases is not completely clear. In recent years, one of the core mechanisms is chronic systemic inflammatory microinflammatory immune response, andregulatory T cells(Treg)and helper T cells 17(Th17)play an important role.Regulating Th17/Treg balance has become a new target for the prevention and treatment of metabolic diseases. This paper reviewed the relationship among the three common metabolic diseases of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2 DM),obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)and Th17/Treg balanceas well as the influence of traditional Chinese medicine on Th17/Treg immune balance,in order to provide new thinking for traditional Chinese medicine to prevent metabolic diseases.
