原型理论视角下的《土生子》中比格的自性化历程

摘　　要：理查德·赖特的《土生子》是黑人文学的里程碑,小说中的主人公比格的矛盾心理及性格研究一直是学术界关注的焦点。自性化是荣格心理学的核心概念,指心灵成长的过程。本文通过自性化理论来分析小说中的主人公比格的精神状态和暴力根源,即分析比格的种族情结、自我的面具和阴影、女性意象和男性意象之间的冲突与调节。在两次犯罪中,比格的种族仇恨情结得以缓解;恭顺而暴戾的人格面具与愤怒的阴影在矛盾激化与深入自省中得以调和;内心被压抑和摒弃的女性意象和专横的男性意象得以整合,展示出比格真实的自我,实现其自性化的过程。Richard Wright s Native Son was a milestone in black literature.Bigger is the hero of the story.The hero s contradictory psyche and character have been the focus of academic research.Individuation as a core concept of Carl Gustav Jung s psychology refers to the process of mental growth.This paper based on the theory of individuation aims at analyzing Bigger s mentality and the sources of his violence,i.e.his racial complex,his ego s persona and shadow,as well as conflicts and mediation between anima and animus.During the two crimes Bigger committed,his complex of racial hatred is relieved;his contradictory persona being obedient and violent and the shadow of his anger are mediated in the process of the identification of contradiction as well as deep meditation;his inward anima depressed and discarded is integrated with his despotic animus,which indicates Bigger s real self and realizes his individuation.
