摘 要:苏州顾文彬家族在清代中晚期先后经历了“因贾致富、贾而好儒、由贾入儒”的社会身份转型过程,与此同时,顾氏家族的职业经历与生存空间的地理流动紧密相关,并由此出现顾氏家族在苏州城市社会阶层地位的垂直变动以及为维持这种相对稳定的社会阶层而付出的诸多努力。从社会融入、地理流动和身份重塑的视角,来探讨江南士绅阶层在国家与地方之间通过怎样的行为举措来谋求自身阶层的上升空间,继而固化新阶层的稳定性,已成为研究清代中晚期江南城市社会群体结构变迁的增长点。The Gu Wenbin family in Suzhou underwent a process of social identity transformation in the mid-and late-Qing dynasty:“becoming rich because of business,becoming Confucianists after business success,and moving from business to Confucianism”,while at the same time the Gu family’s professional experiences were closely linked to the geographical mobility of their living space,and this led to vertical changes in the Gu family’s social class status in urban Suzhou and the many efforts to maintain this The Gu family’s vertical shift in social stratification in urban Suzhou and the many efforts to maintain this relatively stable social stratification.From the perspectives of social integration,geographical mobility and identity reshaping,it is possible to explore the ways in which the gentry in Jiangnan sought their own upward mobility between the state and the locality,and then consolidated the stability of their new class,which has become a growth point in the study of the structural changes of urban social groups in Jiangnan in the mid-and late-Qing period.
