摘　　要：笔者关于历史上中国城市的规划设计研究主要依循4条线索展开,即尝试回答为何设计、设计什么、谁在设计、设计过程等4个核心问题。本文简要回顾此研究历程与体会,在此基础上总结历史研究予当代设计之启示。The author’s research on the planning and design of Chinese cities in history follows four clues, in an attempt to explain the purpose, substance, practitioners, and process of planning and design. This paper briefly reviews the research findings, and then discusses the enlightenment from historical research to contemporary design.
